The Manly ferry MV Collaroy is leaving passenger service. We propose to transform it into a working cultural space for the visual and performing arts, research, and public programs. Our proposal honours the ferry’s massive scale and fiercely democratic design, safeguards its iconic architecture, and opens it up to new audiences.

We acknowledge the Gadi and Gayamay peoples, the Traditional Custodians of the lands between which the Freshwater ferries have historically sailed. We recognise their continuing connection to land and water, the sovereignty of which was never ceded.
